Carbon Reduction Certificates

What are carbon offsets?

A carbon offset is generated by an activity that removes Green House Gas emissions from the atmosphere. Carbon offsets can include native forest plantations, biochar, carbon negative building products, net carbon negative sequestration, blue carbon (i.e. mangrove planting) and soil carbon (increased carbon in soils).

Own portfolio

Decarbonology continues to develop its own portfolio of quality carbon credits mainly based in Australia for our clients and investors.

We have a particular focus on soil rejuvenation of degraded farm land particularly in Western Australia.

These offsets are scientifically measured and uniquely identified in accordance with international standards.  Co-benefits of carbon offsets include improved economic, social and health for local communities which generate Environmental, Societal and Governance (ESG benefits).

We are continuing to develop and source high quality carbon offsets from within Australia and across the globe. This provides your company the choice for suitable carbon offsets for your business values and goals.

The Australian Government’s Climate Active  provides guidance on what is a genuine voluntary offset and sets minimum requirements for generating offsets.

Depending on the project we also comply with:  Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), The Gold Standard (GS) and Social CarbonAustralian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU)

Biochar

Carbon offsets available - 2021 onwards

Biochar made from managed forest biomass
Location: Western Australia and Europe
Standard: Independently verified under international certification framework. A qualified third party verifies the project to ensure that 1 carbon credit = 1 tonne CO2-e. Each offset is uniquely identified.

High-quality biochar contains >85% carbon. Each metric ton of sequesters 2,8 tons of CO2 for centuries. They are certified by the EBC (European Biochar Certification).
