Michelle Rhodes compressed

Founder and Decarbonologist

Michelle is a non-executive Director of Decarbonology, a leading Western Australian carbon offset company providing the full suite of services from carbon quantification, carbon reduction strategies, offset and audit services. 

Michelle is multi-degree qualified and brings experience across the infrastructure, mining, water and oil and gas industries.

 

She has a significant track record in managing environmental impacts and approvals on state-level projects including working with Main Roads Western Australia and the Public Transport Authority on NorthLinkWA, the Perth Stadium, the Matagarup Bridge and Forrestfield-Airport Link (FAL).

 

As an Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISCA) professional Michelle delivers sustainable outcomes on projects.

Founder and Decarbonologist

Cameron has over 20 years’ experience across infrastructure investment, consulting, financial advisory, investment banking, operational and executive management roles both domestically and globally.

 

Cameron has had a particular focus on renewable energy, infrastructure development, project financing, risk & credit, water, transport, fuel terminals and ports. Most of the infrastructure projects have had significant interaction between the Federal, State, Local Government and the private sector.

Chris Lund compressed

Founder and Decarbonologist

Chris is recognised as one of Australia’s leading process efficiency and carbon management specialists with extensive experience in energy efficiency, sustainable energy and carbon accounting, reporting and management (decarbonisation). He has more than 20 years multidisciplinary consulting, research, and teaching experience in these areas working across a range of sectors including mining and mineral processing, chemical industries, oil and gas, electricity generation and distribution, buildings, infrastructure, land development and local government.

 

Chris has provided corporate level strategic advice on decarbonisation (greenhouse gas management) and climate change adaptation to high profile Australian companies including BHP Billiton, Worsley Alumina, Conoco Philips, Wesfarmers Coal as well as WA Main Roads and Fremantle Ports.

General Manager

Shireen oversees the day-to-day operations across a range of functions, including project management, stakeholder engagement, IT and HR. After a decade of working in agribusiness and commodity trading, she became inspired to find opportunities to combine her interest in safeguarding Australia’s natural capital with her passion for building efficient businesses. She is excited to be a part of the team steering Decarbonology through this next phase of growth.   

CEO and Principal Consultant

Rocio is an award-winning senior planning and transformation practitioner with key strengths in strategy development, decarbonisation and climate resilience.  She has extensive experience working with large asset portfolios, in leading public and private sector organisations both nationally and internationally. 

Rocio has been involved in the development and implementation of sustainability and ESG strategies for over 20 years gaining a wealth of experience in strategic asset planning, project sequencing and investment decision prioritisation. 

She has experience in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate-related financial disclosure, carbon management, strategic asset management and public disclosure.  She has experience working with frameworks such as EnviroDevelopment, Green Star, the Science Based Target Initiative, Climate Active, the Global Reporting Initiative, the Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosure, the Carbon Disclosure Project and the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting.

Rocio brings a structured and pragmatic approach to problem solving and project definition. Her approach is underpinned by a strong academic and technical background with degrees in Architecture, Technology, Carbon Management, and a PhD in Environmental Design.

Decarbonologist

Sangay is a multi-degree qualified with a Master of Renewable and Sustainable Energy. graduate in has extensive experience in electrical engineering principles, theories and specifications backed by practical field experience with the private sector in Bhutan and the Royal Government of Bhutan

Sangay holds a Master’s in Renewable and Sustainable Energy from Murdoch University (2022), with a previous bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Science and Technology (2010), Bhutan. He has excellent academic qualifications and knowledge in climate change subjects gained from the completion of numerous climate change units at Murdoch University including, Greenhouse Gas Reporting & Life Cycle Assessment, Energy Efficiency and Carbon Management.

He has considerable knowledge and work experience on GHG inventory calculation, offset generation and carbon management in Perth, Western Australia.

Sam Nelson compressed

Decarbonologist

Sam Nelson has been an environmental accountant and scientific programmer with over 30 years experience in his profession.  During much of that time he has been a consultant working for scientific organisations and environmental management agencies on various data management, water quality measurement and numerical modelling projects.

In 1998, Sam developed the first version of the Greenbase environmental accounting software.  He has wide experience in environmental reporting services for many mining and minerals processing facilities in Australia. 

 

In 2010, Sam initiated the Australian Institute of Environmental Accounting (AIEA), a professional organisation focused on developing the profession of environmental accounting in Australia.  He has participated in the development of the AIEA since inception.
